The Bernhardt Family Band
The Bernhardt Family Band
"Pioneers of prairie soul. Brother-sister magick, featuring the same harmonies that happened in the live scene that the painting of "The Creation of Adam" by everyone's favorite Ninja Turtle, Michelangelo, is based on. 10.5 spiritual earthquake. Seriously so great. You may recognize the guitar player from the parking lot at most phish concerts."
-Ronald James Gallo III, Tiger Beat Magazine

Featuring members of Levee Drivers, COIN PURSE, and The Get Real Gang, a strange brew created using musical instruments, built upon the brother-sister songwriting duo of Kate & Jerry Bernhardt and the groovy-gravy of Dominic Billett & Ben Plotnick.
Ross Bellenoit
Ross Bellenoit
Bellenoit has made a name for himself as a virtuosic master of the guitar, who distinctive tone and touch adds tremendous amount of atmosphere and color to any musical situation. He is also a prolific songwriter, due to release a pair of records in 2015 (previous releases include his debut album in 2011 and a series of EP's in 2012). The first one, entitled "The Wreckage", is a rock and roll tour-de-force, loosely narrating a chance encounter with emotions so heavy that they can only fall apart. Hints of Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams and St. Vincent blend together in a whirlwind of sound, as the opening title track evokes a plane crash. Soon-to-be rock/pop anthems "All I Can Give" and "Sayonara" pave the way for a moodier second half, thundering its way to a surprisingly poised and ambient conclusion in "Break Away".
Rachel Ries
Rachel Ries
Rachel Ries, of South Dakota via Brooklyn, crafts sly and compassionate songs for the crooked hearted. With a clear voice and steady hand, she pulls the listener into her world of city grit, country dirt, and her open-eyed search for redemption and reason.

Since her last official 2008 release, Ries ("reese") has recorded and toured extensively with Anaïs Mitchell and, with Mitchell, toured with Bon Iver. Rachel was granted a Chicago Arts award, worked in the Chicago theater scene, toured Europe and the States, learned how to repair Wurlitzers and (kind of) play the drums.

Ghost of a Gardener , Rachel's 3rd full-length, will be released in February 2014. It was recorded in Chicago over the past winter at Pieholden Suite Sounds, studio of the late Jay Bennett (Wilco) and features David Vandervelde (Secretly Canadian), Emmett Kelly (Cairo Gang, Bonnie "Prince" Billy), members of Cuddle Magic and Gregory Alan Isakov. It also features glockenspiel, droning synths, rumbling bass pedals, a string section and church chimes. To name just a few.
