Teen Men
Teen Men
Teen Men is a Wilmington, DE / Philadelphia, PA based collaboration between two musicians and two visual artists. Teen Men includes members of the Spinto Band (singer Nick Krill and guitarist Joe Hobson) and their new music takes a similar pop aesthetic and dedication to song craft inspired by Quincy Jones’ work with Michael Jackson and mixes it with samples and electronic / ambient tones reminiscent of Vangelis. The visual artists (Photographer Catharine Maloney and Filmmaker Albert Birney) add an important element to the group, most notably a video projection synced to our live show that the band and audience members interact with.
Pavo Pavo
Pavo Pavo is an experimental pop band from Brooklyn, NY. Their debut record, Young Narrator in the Breakers, will be released in 2015. The band started writing together while studying music at Yale, and since then its five members have worked closely with indie and classical heavyweights such as Here We Go Magic, Roomful of Teeth, Dave Longstreth, and San Fermin. Stereogum describes their music as "weightless pop that sounds like it was beamed down from a utopian future"

Young Narrator in the Breakers walks through its songs with symphonic elegance – guitar stabs, washed out harmonies, and rumbling synthesizers come and go like guests at a party. The record describes the magic and panic of adult life; a breaker is a wave whose potential energy is being transformed into turbulent kinetic energy. Co-produced by Danny Molad (Lucius) and Sam Cohen (Yellowbirds), it is a romantic record in the tradition of Elephant 6, and a cohesive record in the tradition of Grizzly Bear. It's our pleasure to introduce: Pavo Pavo.

Weathervane Music is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization working to build community among aspiring life-long musicians, recording artists, and fans who wish to deepen their passion by experiencing music in a new way. Their flagship project is Shaking Through, a documentary music and video series that captures the recording processes of select independent musicians as they record a brand new song over two days at Miner Street Recordings. Shaking Through is designed to inspire and educate the public about independent music, its creative processes and techniques, and the roles that all members of the community can play within it. The series has helped kickstart the careers of artists like Sharon Van Etten, Strand of Oaks, and Hop Along, and featured collaborations with Sufjan Stevens, Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear, Members of The War on Drugs, and many more. All raw audio files from Shaking Through recordings are shared with Weathervane’s supporting members who can use them to practices mixing, make their own remixes, and engage in conversation about their work with other members of the community on each episode webpage.
