The Chelsea Kills
The Chelsea Kills
Formed in 2008 in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, The Chelsea Kills are a punk based rock band fronted by singer/ songwriter/ guitarist, Sam Mercurio. The band began as a high school basement project between a few friends, and has evolved (and devolved) steadily over time.Throughout the years they have appeared in multiple amalgamations and under many different guises. The feverish brand of neurotic punk has always reflected a shimmer of pop and touches of rock and roll. With lyrical content typically hovering around existential (and literal) death and destruction, as well as the eternal struggle of the adolescent, the Chelseas tend to look on the bright side. They have released two full length LP's 2011's Sick Boy, and 2013's Pulp Culture (FYR Records). After a tumultuous re-organizing of the bandscape, The Chelsea Kills have a new full length out on February 17th called Agony, Guilt & Lonelyness.
Grim Sleepers
Grim Sleepers
Grim Sleepers formed in 2013 as a three-piece playing in basements around Philadelphia. Since then the band has continued at a dreary pace exploring side projects such as Loss Leader (Deathwish Inc. / Run For Cover) and Fucking Cissies. The revamped GS, now a four piece with an occasional featured vocalist in Alli Hill, delve into a mixture of pop-doom and shoegaze that will be found in their upcoming debut full length in March 2016.
Dulls
Dulls
"Fuzzed out shoegazers finding balance between catchy dream-pop hooks and noisy psych rock. Their new EP, Moon Violet, was mixed and recorded by John Ceparano of The Stargazer Lilies, and showcases a mix of their influences which include The Smashing Pumpkins, Slowdive, and Broadcast."
