Venice Sunlight
Venice Sunlight
You mean you haven't heard of Venice Sunlight? I mean, aside from the painting by Cecil Rice? Like, the rock band? No? Oh. Sorry, we shouldn't have made that assumption. Let's break it down for you then:

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away (South Brunswick, NJ), four men/boys/gentlemen used to play some rock tunes together. Occasionally they'd play some shows in front of other people (Philly, mostly; NYC; elsewhere). People liked it (including people that weren't obligated to! [but only a few of those]). They made some quick records too, and some people even paid for those. Did you ever read the book "Hammer of the Gods"? It was exactly like that, except our protagonists are American, not British.

And then, deep within the 2015 NHL Playoffs, your heroes made a full-length record. They'd never done this before. It was a process. There was a producer (Joe Reinhart, he's in Hop Along and Dogs on Acid, and much taller than anyone in the band). There was a lot of takeout and beer (Hell and High Watermelon, etc.). There was even a dice game going on on the coffee table; no, wait, that was the video for "Real Talk".

Anyway, the record is called "VENICE SUNLIGHT VERSUS THE SWINGERS AND THE SAINTS" and it is in all caps because it was typed out by my grandmother trying to use iMessage for the first time. The release date is August 20, 2016. There are ten songs on it and you may even like some of them. Topics of varying interest are discussed, including, but not limited to: (1) ADHD medicine; (2) M-theory; (3) stochastic processes; (4) "Back to the Future"; (5) racism in the lead-up to the American Revolution. We're not saying there's something for everyone, but also don't want to imply any kind of contractual obligation in the event you're disappointed.

In conclusion, Venice Sunlight: more than just a damn good rock band, also bad comedy and useless trivia.
The New Connection
The New Connection
The New Connection is a 5-piece Philadelphia based band that plays their own blend of rock music. They are music for the ADD generation, drawing influences from bands like The Beatles, Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Talking Heads, TheClash, Elvis Costello, NOFX and The Police. They sound like a music nerd's iPod on shuffle and can be compared to newer artists like Minus The Bear, Vampire Weekend, The Mars Volta and Local Natives.
The Way Home
The Way Home
The Way Home is comfortable and familiar like a well-worn coat, and exhilarating like discovering something life-changing while listening to late-night radio. Their music will embrace you with a fond memory and surprise you with a new take on the age-old craft of songwriting.

Life moves fast, things don't always stay the same, and there are times when a memory can seem so far away. The Way Home helps you recall what music used to feel like, and allows you to experience that feeling again from your new place in life. That is The Way Home.
