Mercury Radio Theater
Mercury Radio Theater
Mercury Radio Theater combines exotica-punk, bizarre radio plays, and iconic animations to the joy of audiences far and wide. Their spectacle often draws from love, loss, and alienation using classic science fiction themes. Mercury Radio Theater takes old world gypsy melodies, injects the strange instrumentation of a group of north philly side-walk sale refugees, and slathers on a glaze of dance hall punk, to dazzle audiences with a show that will ultimately result in a migraine of catchy songs and red raw vocal cords from shout choruses. Don't miss this chance to see one of the city's most beautiful donnybrooks.
Big Lazy
Big Lazy’s music dwells in the unmistakable landscape of gritty yet gracefully crafted American music. With stark instrumentation - electric guitar, acoustic bass and drums - the trio creates richly evocative soundscapes with a distinctly narrative quality and an undeniable sense of place. Simultaneously noir and pastoral, gothic and modern Big Lazy conjures images of everything from big sky country to seedy back rooms with deftness and a cinematic clarity.

The dean of American rock critics Robert Christgau has called Big Lazy ‘The Big Apple’s Crème de la Crème’. "Big Lazy, the elegantly gritty instrumental trio led by the extraordinary guitarist Stephen Ulrich, plays stunningly beautiful music that evokes everything from truckers' romps to the haunting film scores of Bernard Herrmann." says The New Yorker

References to film noir, spaghetti western, crime jazz, surf, rockabilly and David Lynch films are all vague directions scribbled on napkins on a map-less journey. Big Lazy’s singular sound remains beyond category.
Gringo Motel
Gringo Motel
Gringo Motel is a mariachi spaghetti western,
instrumental surf band with excursions into ambient
landscapes, David Lynch, circus music, and outsider
art. Their desolate resonance of somber tunes invoke
reality as a picture show.
