BLÜmntl is a band formed in the attempt to merge a heavy metal influence with syncopated rhythms with the intent of keeping the groove deep and strong in a repetitive fashion akin to African music. An instrumental power trio with a focus on raw improvisation, the band creates musical landscapes that begin with driving rhythms, harmonic permutations and catchy melodies as vehicles for spontaneous creativity. Since its incarnation the band began performing in bars, festivals, and hosting jam sessions throughout the tri-state area as well as being hired guns for other artists and bands that range from jazz fusion to funk to Philly soul and EDM. BLÜmntl is: Daniel Kaplowitz on guitar, Rodrigo Pichardo on bass and Abel Tabares on drums.
Josh Nussbaum
Josh Nussbaum mixes traditional folk music with sophisticated harmony and heavy elements of psychedelia. His songs tend to take shape around topics such as societal coping, love, death and space. “What Already Is,” Josh’s debut EP, and two new singles are out now
Homeless Apians
Homeless Apians' debut album "Mr. Sun" was recorded outdoors using 100% solar power with the Sun Lab Studio and performed on home-made recycled instruments. The trio features Matthew C. Brown on lead vocals and guitar (made from a kodak picture-slide box), Cody McCorry on singing hand saw and washtub bass (made from a discarded furnace), and Kevin Grossman on drums and tonal percussion (made from construction waste). All three members are well-studied musicians and composers who individually constructed their own instruments and created the music, which is an eclectic composite of genres falling somewhere under the umbrella of alternative rock. The group tours regularly in a solar-panel-equipped van and is based out of Asbury Park, New Jersey.
