Sonja Sofya
Sonja Sofya
Sonja Sofya honed her musical chops through intense classical piano and voice study, but found a creative outlet through songwriting at an early age. “I had some friends who formed an indie-rock band my freshman year of high school,” she recalls, “But though I begged, they wouldn’t let me join -- it wasn’t something girls were supposed to do. So I decided I’d write my own music instead!” Years later, Sonja has carved out a reputation for “nimble pianowork and powerhouse vocals” (Philly Current Magazine), and was awarded Best Female Solo Artist at the 2017 Homey Awards (sponsored by WSTW Radio in DE). Sonja has performed throughout Philadelphia and the Mid Atlantic in rooms like World Cafe Live, Milkboy, Boot & Saddle, The Tin Angel, and North Star Bar (Philly), Caffe Vivaldi, Jalopy Theatre, and Pete's Candy Store (NYC), Club Passim (Boston), Radio Bean (Burlington), Midtown Scholar (Harrisburg), and The Black Fox (Washington, DC). She has shared the stage with artists such as Franz Nicolay of The Hold Steady, Ben Arnold, Chris Kasper, Birdie Busch, Aaron Parnell Brown, and Joe D'Amico of Mason Porter. Her debut album, “Patterns We Know”, is available at sonjasofya.bandcamp.com.
The Dove & The Wolf
The Dove & The Wolf
The Dove & the Wolf is Paloma and Lou, two girls raised on opposite sides of the Atlantic ocean; one in Paris and the other on the French Caribbean island of Martinique. They started playing together in 2004 and formed this project in 2012. Six months after creating the band, they released a first EP (self-produced and self-distributed) that caught the attention of the New York Times, earning them a full page in T Magazine that praised: "a four-song collection of spare but soaring harmonies".
After going on two big US tours opening for Rachael Yamagata and Butch Walker, they moved from Paris to Philadelphia.

Their music is where Crosby, Stills & Nash and Air meet a feminine tenor."
Arc Divers
If Leonard Cohen and PJ Harvey had a baby who grew up listening to The Smiths, Nina Simone and old Rolling Stones records, that baby might form a band that sounds like ARC DIVERS, a rock quartet from Philadelphia starring local sweethearts Emily Ana Zeitlyn (The Weeds), Ross Bellenoit (Birdie Busch), Tom Bendel (Buried Beds) and Todd Erk. ARC DIVERS use equal parts stabbing lyric, extreme dynamic and darling melody to whisper to the sadder side of your soul.
