Erik Petersen (of Mischief Brew)
Erik Petersen (of Mischief Brew)
Erik Petersen of MISCHIEF BREW for this specific show will be playing all the songs off "Bellingham & Philadelphia" and "Bakenal," in order, to celebrate their release ten freaking years ago. Some other rare tunes will make cameos as well.

As lead shouter and strummer in Philly’s folk-punk troupe Mischief Brew, and formerly lead screamer in The Orphans, Erik Petersen has been invading basements and bars since the mid-90’s, spreading the good message of revelry, hilarity, and misrule. What many people don’t realize is that between the two bands, Mischief Brew started as a solo project in 2000 – which often involved Erik finding himself on a bill sandwiched between a variety of much faster bands, armed with only an acoustic guitar. Somehow it worked, and he still gets invited to parties. The band is a lot louder now, but leaving the drums and junk percussion at home in exchange for an old school solo/acoustic performance (and a much easier load-out) is not to be missed. Set-lists are usually crumpled up and tossed over the shoulder, and the shuffling of old, new, and random songs all makes for a jovial celebration of 18+ years of eschewing suits/ties for a far more rewarding career in DIY punk.
Mean Streets
Mean Streets
Formed in 2006 by ex-members of Philadelphia-area bands Cranked Up! and The War's End, Mean Streets delivers an aggressive, yet catchy and accessible punk and pop sound that draws upon a broad range of influences from the beat groups and bubblegum acts of the 1960s to the british punk aggression of the mid 70's to the power-pop movement of the late 1970s and '80s. Mean Streets currently consists of Bill Coburn (Lead Vocals, Bass), Mick Coburn (Drums, Backing Vocals), and Andy Mehos (Guitar, Backing Vocals).

In 2008 Mean Streets released two 7" singles: "About You" b/w "Tied Down" on the Slab-O-Wax label and "That Day"/"Nineteen" on Longshot Records. In 2011 the band self-released a six-song EP entitled "Rewired" and recorded a split 7" ep with Phoenix, Arizona's Glass Heros on the Black Hole label. In addition to these releases, Mean Streets has appeared on numerous Philadelphia-area compilation CDs.
The Highwater Preachers
The Highwater Preachers
The Highwater Preachers (known until now as Slam Hoss) have been raising eyebrows in the burgeoning local bluegrass scene with their fresh takes on classic mountain songs, incorporating precision picking and soulful vocal harmony. Led by the remarkably accomplished Sarah Larsen on fiddle, this troupe of young pickers (featuring members of Sour Mash, the David Wax Museum, and the White Bark Pine) carries the torch of hard-driving traditional bluegrass music.
