Dixy Blood
Dixy Blood
Dixy Blood, Philadelphia’s resident hard floor honky tonk punk rock band, has been slated to open for Pink Slip Daddy on Saturday, October 28th at Boot & Saddle for their annual Halloween Party.

This performance, however, will be unique in that it will feature Dixy Blood fronted primarily by Ms. Betty Loo Gee. Lead singer Mick Cancer, who has a prior singing engagement, will make a cameo appearance.

The band, which formed in 2010, is comprised of singer Mr. Clarence “Mick” Cancer, guitarist Rich Lustre, drummer Moe Jo and vocalist/bassist Ms. Betty Loo Gee (all of whom have ties to the legendary Sickidz), has released one album, (2014’s Songs of Love Lust and Loss), Baltimore, (a four song EP), as well as a single on Platterhead Records. They also recently concluded their “World Tour 2016-17” which included successful stops in Memphis and New York City.

“I’m lucky” says Mr. Cancer. “I get to see them play all the time. They’re amazing. Now y’all about to get lucky.”
Full Blown Cherry
With their rootsy sound, reminiscent of early Memphis, Sun Recording’s, the band captures that moment in time when rock n’ roll was pure and fresh. Listening to Full Blown Cherry with your eyes closed makes you think that it’s 1956 and that Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, or Gene Vincent––major influences on the band––is playing on your Hi-fi stereo. During live shows, their fiery stage presence and antics often leave the crowd stirred up like a dirty martini and yelling for more.
Explosive Head
Explosive Head
Explosive Head erupted out of the Philadelphia area in the Spring of 2010 like a punk n' roll grenade. Their frenzied, savage sounds blow the crowd to hysterics until all that remains are bits and pieces of rockin' residue. Andy Vaughn (lead guitar) and Liz Lixx (bass) trade vocals combustively, accompanied by the raging rhythm guitar of Kelly Mahoney and Dane's blasting, unmerciful drumquakes.

Made up of members of Son Of A Gun and Thee Minks, Explosive Head refuses the stereotype while evoking the days when 70's rock n' roll reigned supreme, fusing Rolling Stones, Destroy All Monsters, Dead Boys, New York Dolls and even Ian Hunter into a fiery sonic boom. Playing with the likes of Ben Vaughn, Stupidity, Prima Donna, The Friggs and Sorrows, Explosive Head will detonate your brain and rock your face off.
