The White Bark Pine
The White Bark Pine
This we know is true. Nothing grows higher than the White Bark Pine. Against the sky’s cheek, in the windy breath of heaven, small clouds pass. At night stars comb through their needles. Only the cackle of a silver pine crow breaks the stillness as it falls into valleys below.

Chosen from seed by the silver pine crow, White Bark Pine grow in groups of three to six trees. Lashed by wind and snow, their roots knot together for strength and support.

When the time is right, glistening purple cones of rich seeds burst from the crown of the White Bark Pine. The silver pine crow comes for her harvest. She shreds the cone, chooses the best seeds, hides them under her tongue, and lifts them into the alpine sky. The wanderer selects the next high secret place to grow White Bark Pine.

The White Bark Pine are songwriters Eric Smith, Willy Lebowitz, & Austin McCutchen. They live at high elevation near the crest of the Sierra.
Ladybird
Ladybird
Hatched from a front-porch jam session, LADYBIRD bathes old-time favorites and new originals in a cocktail of sepia-toned dobro licks, heaven-sent harmonies, and an organic acoustic sound. United by a love of American intervals and pure, clean melodies, Ladybird takes listeners from the streets of Philadelphia to the climbs of Appalachia with soaring ease. Their self-titled EP joins the gals with local rocker Michael Southerton (Song Dogs) to present four traditional songs with new takes, paying homage to the songs that let Ladybird take flight while looking forward to the future.
