Teen Men
Teen Men is a Wilmington, DE / Philadelphia, PA based collaboration between two musicians and two visual artists. Teen Men includes members of the Spinto Band (singer Nick Krill and guitarist Joe Hobson) and their new music takes a similar pop aesthetic and dedication to song craft inspired by Quincy Jones’ work with Michael Jackson and mixes it with samples and electronic / ambient tones reminiscent of Vangelis. The visual artists (Photographer Catharine Maloney and Filmmaker Albert Birney) add an important element to the group, most notably a video projection synced to our live show that the band and audience members interact with.
LOUDS began in Philadelphia in the summer of 2014. The band originally consisted of brothers Charlie and Petie Brooks, but quickly came to include guitarists Alejandro Giraldo-Torres and Juston Stens who the brothers met while working for a Philadelphia-based moving company, Mambo Movers. The band played their debut show at Johnny Brenda’s in early December. They are proud to release their recently finished EP, If More People Bought Art More People Would Buy Art, on Philadelphia’s own Color Theory Records.

The songs on If More People Bought Art More People Would Buy Art were written, demoed, and recorded over the course of the last year by brothers Charlie and Petie Brooks, and derive their often hyperactive power from our collective “sleep-deprived mania,” an excruciating, exhausting, but often extremely productive process of recording with producer Brett Boucher.
Somewhere beyond Missed Connections and Casual Encounters, unreformed romantics still pine for an origin myth.

Born in the wake of bygone bands and bedroom tapes, tinmouth constructs a sound both sophisticated and playful, which feels inviting at its roots of genre-bending weirdo worship.

Neither abandoning nor wallowing in the past, the Philadelphia trio "both distills and pays tribute to classic rock tropes, creating something exciting and warmly familiar." (WXPN's The Key)

While the melodies will stick in your brain, the playing is all heart, as evinced in their thrilling live performances. Outgrowing without forsaking their lo-fi beginnings, tinmouth recorded their debut album sayswith notable producer Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War on Drugs, A Sunny Day in Glasgow).
